"Soccer in Football" Case in Iran: 2 Detained, More Than 50 Called to Testify

Two people detained in Iran in connection with "witchcraft in football" case
Speaking on Iranian state television, Iranian Football Federation Spokesperson Emir Mehdi Alawi gave information on the issue.
"Two people who stated that they had contacted a sorcerer were detained," Alevi said.
Alevi, who stated that more than 50 people were summoned to testify regarding "witchcraft in football," emphasized that these incidents should not be allowed to negatively affect football excitement in the country.
A while ago, it was reported in the Iranian media that four football coaches were suspended from their jobs due to their activities related to witchcraft.
In recent years, some coaches and players in the country have claimed that magic was cast on the fields during some matches and that some teams signed annual contracts with magicians.
